About Me
Hi There! I’m Jenae (Jen-eh)! I am 29 years old, born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. I started my photography journey back in 2018 and I have loved every minute of it! There is something so amazing about getting to meet new people/friends and being able to capture their special moments. Every time I think about the fact that my pictures could be displayed in someone’s home, it gives me goose bumps. So cool!
My style of shooting is very easy going because I want all of my clients to feel comfortable in front of my camera. Stylistically, I am not a fan of super unnatural posey pictures, I would much rather capture my clients candidly themselves. I will always give you movements and poses to work through as I snap away to highlight the warmth of natural smiles and laughs of my subjects. I am also a big fan of playing any music that makes you feel hyped during your session so you can feel comfortable and let loose.
Some things about me:
I’m obsessed with dogs (please bring yours to a photoshoot!) I have 2 dogs they are both Mini Aussie Doodles named Arlo & Randi! There is a chance you could meet them at a shoot!
The name of my photography business was inspired by a small town on the Island of Kauai called Hanalei and it’s pronounced Ha- nah- lay. It is one of the most stunning places I have ever been to and it is my happy place so it made sense for me to name my business after it since I love photography!
I have multiple occupations: Photographer - Musical Theatre/Voice Teacher- Beauty Service Provider (Hanalei Artistry) I’m very passionate about all 3!
My favourite colour is yellow.
I love to travel, my dream trip right now is Italy
I got my first tattoo back in October 2017 and now I can’t stop getting them!
I love camping, car rides, iced peach green teas and long walks on the beach.
If I think I can get away with wearing lounge wear in public I will.
